DALLAS – Highland Capital Management, a Dallas-based investment management firm, which together with its affiliates has approximately $19 billion in assets under management, announced today that it claims compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) and has been independently verified for the period of January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2013.
The GIPS standards are a rigorous set of investment performance measurement principles, which have been adopted in 37 countries and recognized around the world for their unparalleled credibility, integrity, scope, and uniformity, all enabling direct comparability of a firm’s track record.
“Transparency and integrity are two of the most important things people look for when investing money,” said Mark Okada, CIO and Co-Founder of Highland Capital Management. “GIPS compliance and verifications provide just that and truly shed light on the companies who are fully committed to open and honest investing and reporting.”
Highland was independently verified for the period January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2013 by ACA Performance Services, LLC. To achieve this goal, Highland separately engaged the consultation services of Guardian Performance Solutions LLC.
“As the new global standard for presenting performance history, it is imperative that investment firms comply with the requirements of the GIPS standards,” said Theresa Pope, Director of Consultant Relations at Highland. “We’re extremely proud to be able to claim GIPS compliance as it further proves Highland’s commitment to open and transparent communication.”
