Highland Capital Management Joins Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI) Global Network as Signatory

PRI-Sig-Web-V1DALLAS – Mar. 1, 2016 – Highland Capital Management, L.P. further strengthened its environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) practice by becoming a Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI) signatory. PRI is an investor initiative that operates in partnership with the UN Environmental Program Finance Initiative and the UN Global Compact.

As a signatory, Highland commits to adopting and implementing the six Principles of Responsible Investment where consistent with the firm’s fiduciary responsibilities. The six Principles include:

  1. Incorporating ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes;
  2. Operating as active owners and incorporating ESG issues into ownership policies and practices;
  3. Seeking appropriate disclosures on ESG issues by the entities in which the firm invests;
  4. Promoting acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry;
  5. Working together to enhance effectiveness in implementing the Principles;
  6. Reporting on activities and process toward implementing the Principles.

As a member of the PRI global network, Highland has access to a number of resources made available to PRI signatories to support them in implementing the six Principles.
